It’s my BIRTHDAY y’all!!
Sorry, but I AM that person. I love my birthday. I love milestones and reasons to celebrate and what better thing to celebrate than myself? My husband’s a lucky guy 😉
Anyway, since today is also Wedding Wednesday and I just so happen to be on top of my game this month, I’ve compiled some more wedding photos for your viewing pleasure.
In case you missed it:
All official photos (basically everything except the venue post) are by Chelsea from Flightless Bird Photography.
Let’s jump right in!
We (aka I b/c JB didn’t care) decided on a First Look.
I gotta say, I don’t understand people who say they were nervous on their Wedding Day. I was super relaxed up till the moment I had to stand in front of everyone for the ceremony. Then I was shaking like a leaf, but nervous about the day? Nope. I knew I wanted to marry JB
I knew I wanted to marry JB basically from the moment we met so this day was 6 years in the making and nothing to be nervous about. I’ve said it before, but the name change thing freaked me out more than hitching my wagon to his. Going from the name I’d had for 27 years to a new one was a bit untethering. (i may have made that up idk)
Anyway, I was hoping to get some cute teary or astonished face photos of JB, but he simply turned around, cracked a joke, and showed me his suspenders haha. It was perfectly him.
I also did a first look with my Dad and I knew he’d cry. We’re talking about a man who teared up when I told him I bought my dress. I didn’t show him the dress, I just texted him that I bought it. But I’m his oldest daughter and first to get married so I knew it would be an emotional day.
I will say that while walking me down the aisle AND during our Father/Daughter dance we were joking the entire time so the tears were limited. It’s just the kind of people we are.
MR & MRS
Now on to some of my favorite photos from the day.
You’re about to see quick a bit of my side profile. It just happened that way and I’m not upset by it.
After we did our First Look we did bridal party photos and a few of just me and JB. We wanted to minimize the amount of time between the ceremony and when dinner was served. We only took family portraits after the ceremony and since most guests were family people weren’t idle long.
JB had his jacket & I wore my veil for all of the pre-ceremony shots. Post-ceremony when we took more couple photos, the jacket had been ditched and the veil replaced for my crochet flowers hence the break in consistent looks.
This was a quick shot Chelsea took. We were actually following her to another location and JB was helping me carry my dress and I stopped to give him a quick kiss. We’re so cute lol.
But it also gives a good look at the flowers in my hair too. I forgot to ask Chelsea for a close-up shot of them. My fault.
Moral of this post, we’re pretty good looking. At least with a paint can of makeup on my face and a personal hole in the O-zone for my hair. Sorry environment….worth it….
This final one is one many people have told us we need to recreate years down the road. It was actually JB’s idea to go sit out on the dock in these rocking chairs. We are sit in rocking chair kind of people. It was perfect.
